RALEIGH, N.C., Nov. 9, 2018- Curt Ladig, chief executive officer of Delta Dental of North Carolina (DDNC), is being honored with the first 2018 HE for SHE Impact Leader Award by The North Carolina Chapter of the U.S. National Committee for UN Women (UN Women US NC). The award honors leaders who make gender equality a priority by implementing commitments to advance and achieve gender equality and economic empowerment.
The HE for SHE Impact Leader Award was given to Ladig for his concrete commitment to empowering women and his alignment with the core mission of the UN Women US NC. DDNC hosts a Women in Leadership Luncheon that celebrates women whose leadership efforts are paving the way for the future. Ladig and the DDNC team have worked to expand this series throughout the state. In addition to acknowledging the accomplishments of women in leadership, the luncheons provide a networking opportunity for local professionals.
“At Delta Dental of North Carolina, we strive to promote leadership development while engaging our communities,” said Ladig. “Our Women in Leadership luncheon stemmed from our belief that by working together, gender equality can become a reality. Currently, women make up 75 percent of the Delta Dental of North Carolina management team and compromise 74 percent of the entire DDNC team. I’m truly humbled that our efforts are being honored by UN Women US NC.”
HE for SHE is a social movement campaign which provides a targeted platform for men and boys to push for advancement in gender equality. The movement strives to accelerate women’s economic empowerment and support women’s roles in leadership and political participation through its advocacy. The award was presented to Ladig during the UN Women US NC annual luncheon on November 4.
