Serving Our Community

Delta Dental is committed to helping improve access to oral health for the citizens of North Carolina. As a result, the company annually provides support for projects to help people who need treatment but lack the means to obtain it.

In addition, Delta Dental sponsors other activities designed to promote dental education and increase awareness of the importance of oral health.

Examples of current projects are the following:

  • Funding annual scholarships that benefit students at Wake Technical Community College in the dental assisting and dental hygiene programs.
  • Sponsoring the Dental Health Theater at the Alice Aycock Poe Center for Health Education that educates children about the importance of good oral health habits.
  • Through the Delta Dental Foundation's Smiles for Kids program, grants are provided to North Carolina nonprofits that provide direct oral health services or education to underserved children, such as funding a new oral health exhibit at the Millis Regional Health Education Center.
  • Donating Rethink Your Drink kits that illustrate the amount of sugar in popular beverages and encourage people to choose water more often.
  • Distributing oral health information and toothbrushes at a variety of community events and outreach programs.
