NC League of Municipalities Health Benefits Trust is designed for local governments, by local governments. This self-insured, member-governed health insurance goes above and beyond for its members, and offers benefits to meet the specific needs of cities, towns, counties and other governing bodies. 

The Health Benefits Trust was established in 1983 by the North Carolina League of Municipalities as an alternative method of offering health, dental, life, and disability group benefits to NC communities. It provides employer group benefits (paid by the employer) for North Carolina local governments. Each employer group is fully insured.
